ABOUT THE OWNER

amy_warm-1.jpg

My journey with ceramics began in 2013 when my husband gifted me four pottery classes for Christmas—and I never looked back. Originally from North Carolina, I spent many years along the Eastern Coast, where the ocean and sea life became a lasting source of inspiration for my work. Every piece I create reflects my deep love for nature, crafted with care and intention.

I’m especially drawn to layering colors to capture movement and depth, often working with blues, amber, and white glazes. One of my signature designs is a large wave pattern, achieved through multiple applications of varying blue hues. While my true passion lies in throwing on the wheel, I also enjoy the artistry and versatility of hand-building.

Today, I run a public studio in Missouri City, Texas, where I display my work and teach pottery classes. As a member of Saltgrass Potters, I love participating in art shows and connecting with people who appreciate handmade ceramics. Seeing my pieces in others’ hands brings me immense joy—whether they’re functional, dinnerware-safe pieces or purely decorative, each one is made with love, from me to you.

Instructor - One-Time Classes

Jeanette

Hello! I'm Jeanette—I've been addicted to pottery for almost a decade and clay never fails to amaze me. There is no place I'd rather be than throwing at the wheel trying to continuously grow as a potter.

Pottery can look pretty intimidating but with some patience and guidance, you might just find that working with clay can help in so many ways. Together we will "throw through it!"

Instructor - 6 Week Courses

Scott Sherwood

My journey in pottery began in college, where I majored in Ceramics at Texas State University. I started teaching at local studios in Austin and now continue my work in Houston. My pieces blend function with creativity, inspired by the textures and rhythms of everyday life. With nearly a decade of experience, I teach classes, create functional and expressive pottery, and help others discover the magic of working with clay, getting their hands dirty, and turning nothing into something.
