Service Description

Ready to take your pottery further? This 6-week intermediate course is designed for students who have completed a beginner class or have prior wheel-throwing experience. If your not quite sure if youre ready for this class here are some questions to ask yourself to better understand the expectations of students in this class: Are you confident in centering clay? Could you throw a 6 inch tall straight cylinder? Are you able to consistently throw with 3 or more pounds of clay? You’ll explore more challenging forms and techniques such as jars, vases, large forms, and 2 part vessels. Expect more targeted goals and creative challenges. While you're still encouraged to make work in your own style, this course emphasizes applying the techniques taught each week in your own work. It's not a free-form class—it's about pushing your abilities and deepening your practice. 25lbs of clay is included in the course fee. You’re welcome to use any leftover clay from previous classes or purchase new bags of your choice of clay body through the studio. Tools are still included, but students at this level are encouraged to explore new tools and begin building their own personal toolkit. You’ll also get expanded open studio access—up to 5 hours per week—to support your practice outside of class. Please double-check your calendar before registering. Missing one class is fine, but more than two absences in a row may make it difficult to stay on track with the rest of the group.
